They begin with some headlines from around the league, including reigning Player of the Year Joao Morelli's injury (2:20), before jumping into a breakdown of Forge and Cavalry's 2-2 draw, and all its controversy, at Tim Hortons Field (5:30).
From there, KJ and Charlie move on to Starlight Stadium, where Pacific defeated Valour 3-2 (18:00), and they're joined live by Marco Bustos to discuss his three-assist performance for the Tridents (22:00). After that, it's Atlético Ottawa's 1-0 win over HFX Wanderers and a look at how different the capital club is under Carlos González (39:17), and then CanPL.ca contributor Alexandre Gangué-Ruzic joins to chat about FC Edmonton and York United's snowy 1-1 draw (48:00).
The show finishes with a recap of the news surrounding the Vancouver-area CPL expansion team (58:53), as well as a look ahead at Week 3's matchups.

The Canadian Premier League is back, and so is the CanPL.ca Newsroom. Kristian Jack and Charlie O'Connor-Clarke went live to break down all four games and hear from coaches and players across the league.
They start out west, where they break down Pacific's 2-1 home win over Forge (4:39), and CPL contributor Alexander Gangué-Ruzic joins (15:32) to share his thoughts on the CPL Final rematch.
Benedict Rhodes then joins the show to talk about *that* Pacific FC kit (26:15), and then to analyze HFX Wanderers' 1-0 win at York United (28:59), as well as Atlético Ottawa's 1-0 triumph over Cavalry FC (38:19).
Finally, the bicycle helmets come out as Charlie and KJ get to FC Edmonton's emotional 1-1 draw with Valour FC in their home opener (48:36), including Tobias Warschewski's stunning overhead kick to bag a point in injury time.

The 2022 Canadian Premier League season is finally upon us, and in celebration of the league's fourth campaign kicking off, CanPL.ca's Kristian Jack and Charlie O'Connor-Clarke got together for a full in-depth preview show.
They went team by team, starting out east with HFX Wanderers and finishing on the west coast with the champs Pacific FC, breaking down what's new with each of the CPL's eight clubs and hearing from the head coaches and key players from each team.
KJ and Charlie start with the Wanderers (8:19) and hear from Stephen Hart and João Morelli. They move on to a new-look Atlético Ottawa side (22:37) and chat with Carlos González and Nathan Ingham before heading to York United (40:11) as Martin Nash and Max Ferrari share their thoughts on the Nine Stripes in 2022.
Bobby Smyrniotis and Tristan Borges appear to chat about Forge FC (56:04), followed by a segment on Valour FC featuring Phillip Dos Santos and returning defender Andrew Jean-Baptiste (1:14:44). They head to Alberta next to talk about an intriguing FC Edmonton side and hear from both Alan Koch and Shamit Shome (1:29:28), then move on to their Al Classico foes Cavalry FC as Tommy Wheeldon Jr. and Elijah Adekugbe appear to share their outlook on the new season (1:42:50).
Finally, the champions close things out, as both James Merriman and Pa-Modou Kah join the CanPL Newsroom hosts to break down the coming year on Vancouver Island (1:57:47).

Canada's men's national team has officially qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, thanks to a 4-0 win at BMO Field over Jamaica on Sunday. Still buzzing from the game, CanPL.ca's Kristian Jack and Charlie O'Connor-Clarke sat down to sift through all the emotions and reaction to a momentous day for Canadian soccer.
The pair were joined midway through the show by Sid Seixeiro and James Sharman to break down what this all means for Canada, with an eye to the upcoming World Cup draw this Friday.
Plus, we hear from an assortment of Canada's players and coach John Herdman from pitch level just moments after the match on Sunday (clips courtesy of OneSoccer).

Now, with the squad only days from this final slate of games that would see Canada qualify for their first World Cup since 1986, Phonzie speaks on what it's like to cheer from the sidelines, and what this would mean to the team and him personally.
The pair also discuss Phonzie's elite teammates at Bayern, his brothers on the national squad, and even take a moment to open some trading cards.

In a special edition of the CanPL.ca Newsroom, first broadcast live on Tuesday night, Kristian Jack and Charlie O'Connor-Clarke convene to break down everything you need to know about Forge FC's historic Concacaf Champions League match on Wednesday against Mexican giants Cruz Azul.
First, KJ and Charlie chat briefly about the upcoming match (3:45), and what they're most looking forward to at Tim Hortons Field, before they're joined by Forge coach Bobby Smyrniotis (8:29) to hear all about his side's preparation and their emotions heading into the biggest match in club history.

In the latest episode of the CanPL.ca Newsroom, CanPL.ca and OneSoccer’s Kristian Jack, Charlie O’Connor Clarke, and Marty Thompson return for a massive Canadian soccer roundup – with two of Canadian soccer’s more well-known veterans.
First off, of course, the gang covers just how “effortless” the (1:38) Canadian men’s national team’s epic nine-point World Cup Qualifying window was and throw out some love for their top performers in wins against Honduras, the United States, and El Salvador.
CPL headlines followed… Including the signing Forge FC unveiled of former CanMNT and Toronto FC left fullback Ashtone Morgan, who joined the show (23:30). This heartwarming chat about coming home to Ontario, Concacaf Champions League memories ahead of Forge’s Cruz Azul match, and much more brought a smile to Charlie, KJ, and Marty’s ears.
